UT in Los Angeles

The University of Texas at Austin Semester in Los Angeles Program offers a unique opportunity for students who are serious about exploring academic and professional interests related to the entertainment industry. The Semester in Los Angeles Program is available each semester throughout the year: fall, spring or summer, and classes are held at the UTLA Center, located in Burbank, just minutes away from some of the major Hollywood studios. Courses focus on the business and creative sides of the entertainment industry and are taught by seasoned professionals (many of them UT alumni), with extensive careers in film, television and music.

The UTLA application is part of UT’s College of Communication Usher Portal. Used to house every-day applications for the faculty, staff, and students of the college.

UTLA Application

This online application is open once a year for student to apply to this special program and consists of several different states. The first state is a general application period where users can submit their personal information, academic information, essays, and upload supporting documents. If the applicant is a current UT student, much of this information is pre-populated.

After the application period closes administrators conduct their review and begin selection for the three 45 seat semesters. Students are notified of their acceptance. They then log back into the site to confirm their acceptance, as well as having the option to remain wait-listed for other semesters if desired. Once accepted they can begin submission of their post acceptance materials.
